Haltom City (KRLD) - A 15-year-old in Haltom City had to answer to his mother this morning, after taking her car for a joyride.
Police say they spotted the teen in his mom's Mercedes around 1:45 this morning. However, he didn’t want to stop when police tried to pull him over. Instead, the teen led officers on a chase that ended up lasting about 30 minutes.
The boy finally pulled off Highway 121 at Minnis Drive and crashed the Mercedes into a support bridge pillar.
He did get checked out at the hospital, but Haltom City police say any injuries weren't too serious.
Police say they checked the support pillar for any significant damage, and that there’s no impact on traffic.
