
DALLAS (KRLD) - Seven North Texas non-profit organizations are on the ballot in State Farm's eighth annual "Neighborhood Assist" grant program.
State Farm spokesman Chris Pilcic said 15 of the 200 finalists are from Texas, "including seven right here in DFW, and really a wide variety of causes across a wide area, all the way from Denton to Arlington and into the heart of Dallas."
Public voting is underway and continues through August 23 at neighborhoodassist.com. Voters are allowed up to ten votes per day, and votes can be cast for one cause or spread among several causes. The top 40 vote-getters nationwide will be announced in late September, with each receiving a $25,000 grant from State Farm.
