MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD) - Until recently, McKinney Police Officer Adam Hamilton was in perfect health.
Then, Hamilton suffered a series of sudden seizures. Doctors found a mass on the frontal lobe of his brain. The unexpected diagnosis turned life upside-down for Hamilton and his family.
The young officer, only 27, remains intubated and continues to receive intense medical care. His family is now dealing with mounting hospital costs and lost wages.
The first of several fundraisers to help Officer Hamilton and his family will be held today (Wednesday) from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. at Sicily's Pizza & Pasta, 1502 W. University Dr. in McKinney.
The restaurant will donate 50% of today's proceeds directly to Hamilton's family.
Officer Hamilton went viral last year, after he comforted a frightened seven-year-old boy during a traffic stop in McKinney, even showing him his squad car. The video captured by the child's mother gathered national attention.
