As of Friday May 1, travelers entering Texas from Louisiana will no longer be required to self-quarantine for 14-days.
The restriction took effect on March 26th in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus in Texas.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott's order on Monday about reopening Texas businesses also announced the upcoming end of the Louisiana travel restriction.
Abbott had charged the DPS with checking up on quarantined people affected by this order.
People flying in from California, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Washington still have to self-quarantine, as well as travelers from Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Miami.
