FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Some parts of North Texas could receive up to two inches of sleet Wednesday morning.

A winter weather advisory was in effect for Tarrant County and points to the west, but many commuters say the roads just stayed wet.

"I'm not worried. Not really," one man said as he filled his gas tank near I-30 and West Loop 820 in Fort Worth. "I've driven in Germany and up north, so it's going to be all right as long as we drive correctly out here. Watch the overpasses and everything."

TxDOT pretreated roads earlier this week, but temperatures Wednesday morning remained above freezing.

In Johnson County, the department of emergency management tweeted a picture showing a measurement of pavement temperature was 40 degrees. The emergency management director said most roads there were dry, but "that will likely change."

So far most of the roads are dry across the county. That will likely change in the next hour or two. They are warm as well. Going to be cooler this evening than it was yesterday. #dfwwx pic.twitter.com/Qj6LOW91Mq

The National Weather Service says some areas west of Mineral Wells and Decatur could receive 1-2 inches of snow and sleet accumulation. One man at the gas station in Fort Worth said he worried about driving west out of the Metroplex.

"The way the wind is blowing right now, and it's wet outside," he said. "Some of the lights are out on the freeway, so you can't see the road and maybe some black ice."
