DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- We know what business life has looked like in the last six weeks of the coronavirus crisis. Many offices have been empty and work has been remote.
While non-essential businesses can return to the office starting on Friday, don't expect things to return to "normal" any time soon.
The Dallas Regional Chamber surveyed more than 100 Dallas-area businesses to explore their plans after May 1.
"A vast majority of them, 85-percent, said they anticipated allowing work from home beyond what is required or recommended by the government," says DRO CFO/COO Angela Farley.
"A lot of businesses were talking about June 1," said Farley. "And most of them are planning on staggered re-entry."
Additionally, the businesses indicated that employee willingness/ability to return from working from home was a big focus area.
And North Texas is not just looking a short-term changes. When asked what they expected to happen over the next year, about 88-percent forsaw less travel, 77-percent expected more work-from-home flexibility, and 70-percent thought there would be less in-office meetings with customers and guests.
