DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas police on Wednesday raided a massage parlor they said was a front for prostitution and made several arrests.
The City of Dallas also revoked the certificate of occupancy for the Jade Spa on Market Center Boulevard near I-35-E. A judge issued a temporary restraining order to make sure the business did not re-open.
Dallas Police say they had conducted surveillance on the Jade Spa for months as part of an investigation into prostitution and possible human trafficking. Officers determined that prostitution was taking place at the business, and eventually identified the operators and owners of the business.
Police say their investigation showed financial connections between the Jade Spa and several other businesses.
Along with the raid on Wednesday, officers executed search warrants at other locations in Dallas, Carrollton, Grapevine, Arlington, Southlake, and Irving. That included a search warrant at a restaurant in Southlake that investigators say is financially linked to the illegal activities at Jade Spa.
Police also served warrants on several local banks and seized or froze about $370,000 in assets they said were tied to the spa's criminal activities.
Three other suspects are still at large.
Investigators brought in non-profit organizations to help people at the spa who may be victims of human trafficking
