A woman accused of killing a Fort Worth police officer in a 2024 drunken driving crash has pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter.
Police said DeAujalae Evans was driving home from a house party in Grand Prairie early in the morning hours of August 12, 2024 when she entered an exit ramp the wrong way and struck Fort Worth Police Sgt. Billy Randolph.
Randolph was working a crash scene on the exit ramp from Interstate 35W to Sycamore School Road when Evans drove through the area around 5:38 a.m. and hit him, police said. He died at the scene.
Court records show Evans had previously pleaded guilty in a 2023 family violence case involving a shooting. In that case, a judge sentenced her to six years of probation instead of jail time.
Sentencing details in the intoxication manslaughter case were not immediately available.
