DALLAS (KRLD) - Sully, the service dog of late President George H.W. Bush, is going to have his own statue.

October 24, 2019 America's VetDogs has commissioned California sculptor Susan Bahary for the piece. She has created several pieces honoring the bond between humans and their service animals. Once completed, the statue of Sully will be on display at the 41st President's library in College Station.Sketches of the statue show the yellow lab with his service vest on, sitting at attention with his leash in his mouth.President Bush got the four-legged family member in 2018, a few months before his death. Sully is now with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's Dog Program, where he is assisting wounded soldiers and active-duty personnel.
