A new male giraffe was born on Sunday, May 2 at the Dallas Zoo.
The baby boy giraffe, born to parents Katie and Tebogo, is named Kendi, which means "the loved one."
Zoo officials say he already stands over six feet and weighs 161 pounds.
According to the Dallas Zoo, Kendi and his mother are bonding behind the scenes until the zoo can safely reopen its gates.
