HOUSTON (1080 KRLD)- Those living in the Houston area are bracing for high winds from Tropical Storm Laura. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner says it's time to prepare.
Turner says, "If there are things that could turn into a missile, so to speak, you want to remove those types of things. You want to tie down certain things."
Turner also says, "I would encourage senior citizens and those with disabilities to call 2-1-1 if you need help. We certainly want to know where you are and what your needs may be."
Some forecasters believe Laura may hit close to Houston as a powerful hurricane Wednesday night or early Thursday.
