KAUFMAN (1080 KRLD) - The City of Kaufman says a water main break has shut off service to homes and businesses, and Kaufman ISD has canceled classes for Wednesday.
The city could not confirm freezing temperatures led to the break, but Kaufman says the pipe burst about 11:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Kaufman says crews started repairing the line immediately, and those repairs should be completed this morning. While they work, they have have shut off service to homes and business south of Highway 175. Kaufman ISD says its campuses have no running water.
Kaufman ISD originally planned to delay buses and classes by two hours, but the district later canceled class for the day.
