ALLEN (KRLD) - A man was taken to a mental hospital after he attempted to take a six-year-old from a Whataburger in Allen on Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses say the man had a masonry trowel and grabbed the boy by the arm and said, "you are coming with me." However, the boy's uncle was right there and stopped the man from taking him.
While an employee was escorting the man out, he used his trowel to strike a worker. The employee was checked out at the scene and didn't suffer any significant injuries.
The man briefly got away but crashed his car on Stacey Road. He was taken to the hospital where doctors concluded he has mental issues.
