DALLAS (KRLD) - Since the beginning of the year, Mitch Felderhoff has chowed down on nothing but dog food....not just any dog food.  You see, he's the co-owner of dog food manufacturer Muenster Milling company.

The why is to prove to their customers the faith they have in their product, and to get a better understanding of what it's like to eat like a dog for a month.   "We're feeding them and we want to know how they feel and how the food makes them feel.  And try and set them up for success."  They have dried food and freeze-dried raw.  They reconstitute it sometimes.  He'll put water in it and cook it.  They contain a lot of organ meat and are low on carbs."

The good news is he doesn't have to eat alone.  "I've got two yellow labs, one that's 12 and one that's 14 and we have shared a few meals together.  It's been a fun experience for them.  They eat a little faster than I do."

If you're going to eat like a dog, you have to drink like one too.  I'm only drinking water this month, no sodas, no alcohol because dogs can't have caffeine and they can't have alcohol.  So we're doing it as if we were a dog.  So no coffee, no alcohol.  None of the fun stuff."

He plans to eat his last dog meal Saturday at Operation Kindness where his company will pitch in towards adoption fees.  Felderhoff says he can't wait for Superbowl Sunday he plans to eat as much brisket, steak, and wings as he can.
