New Coronavirus Cases Continue To Climb In North Texas

In Tarrant County, people there are worried about the continued spread of the coronavirus.

The percent of COVID-19 tests coming back positive in Tarrant County is very high which suggests more infection is present in the community. 

Dr. Keith Argenbrigh, Director of Moncrief Cancer Institute, says says certain hospital trends are worse in Tarrant County than Dallas County. 

On Wednesday, Tarrant County Health officials reported 857 new positive coronavirus cases, a new daily record, along with 5 addiditonal deaths. 

277 people have died from the virust in Tarrant County alone. 19,871 Tarrant County resident have become infected since the pandemic began, and 680 COVID-19 patients still occupy hospitals in Tarrant County.

Dallas County reported 1,055 new cases and 8 deaths. There has been 36,969 cases of the virus in Dallas County and 485 people have died, according to officials.

Collin County reported 134 new cases and 1 death on Wednesday. 4,934 Collin County resident have contracted the virst and there has been a total of 62 deaths.  

Denton County reportd no new deaths on Wednesday, but said that there are 151 new cases. So far in Denton county there has been a total of  4,467 COVID-19 infections and 41 deaths.

1,854 people remains hospitalized with the coronavirus in North Texas, but there are still more than 2,400 hospital beds available as well as 263 ICU beds and more than 1,100 ventilators.
