ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - If you're longing to go to a Rangers game amid this COVID-19 shutdown, the team's longtime public address announcer has a special deal for you.

Normally at this time of year, Chuck Morgan serenades Rangers fans with his legendary announcements of the starting lineups, players coming to bat, pitching changes and other useful information.

However, the coronavirus outbreak has put a screeching halt to all that for the time being.

So now that he has a little more time on his hands, people are asking him to do personalized greetings.

"People have asked me to do birthdays or wedding lineup announcements," says Morgan; "and I thought: you know what, why don't we do some charity work."

For just $25, you can go onto the Cameo website and have Chuck record a personalized greeting just for you. (LINK: https://www.cameo.com/texpaman)

"I do the announcements like either somebody coming up to bat or a wedding announcement or wish somebody a happy birthday," says Morgan.

The money is being donated to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, which will give that money to healthcare workers and first responders.

While the personalized greetings may whet Rangers fans' appetite for Morgan's legendary announcing, they long for the day when they can hear his voice inside the Rangers' brand new ballpark.

"I'm hearing from a lot of baseball fans so far," says Morgan, "and they're looking forward to getting baseball season started and watching the game at Globe Life Field."
