Dallas officials say figures for the month of July show that sales tax receipts in Dallas were down by just over 4.5 percent from the same time last year.
The Texas State Comptroller's office says that's about the same as the state-wide drop for that period, and it's an indication that overall economic activity is still being affected by COVID-19.
Dallas city officials say the local situation is improving, compared to the drop they noticed in the previous three months.
