DUNCANVILLE (KRLD) - Duncanville Police have removed a credit card skimmer that was discovered at a gas station on Cedar Ridge Road. Inspectors from the Texas Department of Agriculture were called to the Valero/Anisha Food Store on Cedar Ridge at Center Street and discovered the skimmer. They notified Duncanville Police.
Crooks use the electronic devices to steal customers' credit card and debit card information when customers pay at the pump.
The Texas Department of Agriculture urges customers to take several precautions to minimize their risk:
Check the security tape on the gas pump for any signs of tampering
Use a cell phone to scan for any suspicious Bluetooth signals
Use the gas pump closest to the store entrance within view of the store clerk
Pay inside with cash
Customers who spot signs of a skimmer or think they have been victims can contact the Texas Department of Agriculture at 1-800-TELL-TDA (1-800-835-5832) or TellTDA@TexasAgriculture.gov.
