DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - With passenger bookings in free fall, Southwest Airlines is cutting an additional 500 flights-a-day from its schedules through the middle of April.

That's on top of the one thousand flight cancellations announced last week.

The carrier reports its planes are only about 20 percent full during the Coronavirus scare.

Traditionally, Southwest has very few empty seats during better times.
