Technical problems are plaguing several North Texas school districts today, throwing thousands of students for a loop on their first day of virtual class.

For the Fort Worth ISD, it's issues with the district's main website.

As of an hour ago, the FWISD website has experienced slow loading or a failure to load. However, students may access Classlink by going to https://t.co/hIrRzYYdLO

"Our home web page is having a little trouble with loading," says Clint Bond, spokesperson for the Fort Worth ISD. "It's either slow loading or people are getting an error message."

Bond says the website is hosted by a Utah-based company, the same one that hosts the Dallas ISD and Houston ISD websites, as well as the websites for several other school districts in the area.

"And they're all having the same trouble at the moment," Bond says. "We're not sure exactly what [the issue> is, we're relying on the vendor to get it fixed as quickly as possible."

In addition to the slow running website, the Dallas ISD is also reporting problems with phone lines.

We are currently experiencing technical issues with our phone lines and website. We ask for your patience as we work to get those fixed ASAP.

Parents and students are taking to social media, saying not only can they not get in ... they also can't get assistance. It's a problem shared by Tarrant County College, where officials have been reporting partial phone outage as well.

Bond says in Fort Worth, students are still able to access virtual classes, which are held on a different server. The McKinney ISD isn’t so lucky. Officials there report technical issues impacting several online student resources.

Bond says experts are working fervently to fix the connectivity problems, but he's unsure when everything will be up and running smoothly.
