DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The Texas Baptist men say they have two units on alert. This includes their state feeding unit and a shower unit that accompanies that feeding unit.

Spokesperson John Hall says, "We are ready to respond as quickly as possible. We're in constant contact with folks in Florida and along the East Coast depending on where Dorian may make landfall."

He says they are ready to serve 30,000 meals a day within 24 hours of setting up.

"We are capable of escalating that up to 100,000 meals a day. We have a variety of relief efforts and we are happy to serve," Hall says. "The Texas Baptist men seek to minister to the whole person. We try to meet their needs physically though food, through removing debris from their house, cutting out drywall, prepping the house for remodeling.

"On the other side, we also try to meet spiritual needs. When people are affected by hurricanes, they are broken and they are hurting and God loves them. God cares about them deeply and because we seek to follow God we try to reflect that love and share that with them in those very difficult moments."
