MABANK (1080 KRLD) - As the coronavirus disease spreads across Asia, a Kaufman County woman remains stranded in China due to a stolen passport.
Mabank resident Ashley Jenkins has posted a Facebook video describing her plight. She says she has quarantined herself for nearly three weeks to avoid infection.
Jenkins went to China to teach English but is now desperate to get back to Texas.
However, under Chinese law, she cannot take public transportation without her passport - blocking her from getting to Hong Kong where she might be able catch a flight back to the US.
