DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - There will be a union organized show of support today at DFW airport for TSA workers who are still on the job but are not being paid because of the on-going government shutdown.

Later this morning members of the AFL-CIO from both sides of the Metroplex plan on a show of solidarity with the TSA screeners outside DFW International's Terminal D.

The screeners are union members, and AFL-CIO leader Mark York says they don't like the idea of, as he puts it, the screeners "being held hostage."

"If they don't come to work then they can be terminated, and they're not getting paid" said York. "We feel, I feel, that when all this is over, the Trump 'make believe wall' that he wants to build, is pitting workers against Congress."

So far there is no evidence the screeners at either DFW International Airport or Dallas Love Field have called in sick, as has happened at other airports.
