DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Texas dominates a new list of the hardest-working cities in the U.S.
According to the report compiled by Digital Third Coast Internet Digital Marketing, Plano ranks No. 2 in the nation behind Washington, D.C.
Dallas, Grand Prairie and Houston also made the top five. Garland, Irving and Arlington rank in the top ten.
Using U.S. Census Bureau data, researchers looked at categories including average commute time, average workweek hours, percent of the senior workforce population and percent of unused vacation days.
The study found the Dallas workforce works an average of 40.2 hours per week, and that 29% of the population left vacation days unused at the end of fiscal year 2018.
Digital Third Coast's Collin Czarnecki said Texans can take a lot of pride in their work, but there's also a downside to landing on this list. "There's a huge conversation about work-life balance, and trying to find that happy medium and not reaching the point of burnout at work."
