There are more than 3,100 different counties and parishes and boroughs around the United States. And as of 2018, 109 of them have gone through a major change.

Pew Research reports they are now 'majority minority' counties, meaning non-Hispanic whites are no longer the majority of the population.

In 21 of the 25 biggest counties in America, nonwhite groups together make up more than half of residents.

Texas has seen 23 counties go from majority white to what they call "majority non-white."

Tarrant County is the biggest county in the state that has seen this population shift. In 2000, 62% of the population would be described as non-Hispanic white. In 2018, that has dropped to 46% as the population of Tarrant County has grown past 2 million people.

Other counties in Texas that are affected include; Victoria, Wharton, Brazoria, Matagorda and Travis Counties.
