Oak Cliff has seen many changes in recent years, but one DFW artist wants to make sure the past isn't forgotten. Dallas-based illustrator, Agustin Chavez, recently began sharing his 8-bit video game style depictions of some of the area's most beloved landmarks. The art can be found on his Instagram page, and he hopes to keep adding to the collection.

Agustin Chavez grew up in Oak Cliff, and last month began sharing some digital art that represents what it was like growing up in area. Since starting the project, he has created digital depictions of Charco Broiler, Country Burger, Texas Fadez barbershop, Cesar's Tacos, Bronco Bowl and more. According to Axios, he is now receiving requests for places people want to see done in his style.

"The feeling of seeing a childhood memory brought to a digital art medium makes everyone feel so proud," said Chavez. The Oak Cliff project and many other pieces can be seen here. This is definitely art anyone from DFW can get behind.
