DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton has been placed on the NFL's reserve/COVID 19 list and will miss Sunday's game vs the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to multiple reports.

ESPN's Todd Archer was the first to report on Dalton being out this week.

There's no official word yet if Dalton tested positive for the virus or if he came into close contact with someone who did.

Dalton had yet to clear the concussion protocol, but the Cowboys were hopeful that he would be ready to play this week against the Steelers.

Dalton's absence means that rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci will likely make his second career start this week.

The Cowboys could also turn to Cooper Rush, who was signed to the team's practice squad last week. The former Cowboys quarterback joined his former head coach Jason Garrett in New York, but the Giants elected to cut him on Sep. 29.

The Cowboys quarterback depth chart also includes Garrett Gilbert. Gilbert served as DiNucci's backup in last week's loss to Philadelphia.
