With a record number of patients and no pedicatric ICU beds currently available, Cook Children's announced it's Urgent Care locations are making changes.
With a reported 76 kids with COVID-10 being treated in Cook Children's hospitals, there are no available staffed ICU beds for kids. So all Cook Children's Urgent Care Center locations have switched to walk-in only.
Also the UCC's are not taking online check-ins. Most locations will close at 9:00 p.m. while their Fort Worth location will close at midnight.
All locations will also offer two options: lab-only visits for those patients that simply need a COVID-19 test but don't need to be seen for an urgent care visit and the usual urgent care visit for all other patient needs.
There has been a large volume of patients being seen at hospitals, urgent care centers, and family medicine clinics.
