Voters in the critical swing state of North Carolina will see extended hours at four polling locations that ran into technical issues Tuesday morning.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections voted 3-2 to extend voting by 45 minutes at a polling location outside Fayetteville, 24 minutes at a second Sampson County precinct, 34 minutes at a precinct in Guilford County and 17 minutes at a Cabarrus County polling location.
The issues caused each location to open late.
"With 2,660 polling sites, it is not unusual for minor issues to occur at polling sites that result in a brief disruption of voting," a news release from the NCSBE explained. "The State Board routinely meets to discuss the extension of hours when the need arises."
The state is seen as a must-have for both candidates, as President Donald Trump’s win there four years ago isn’t so certain in 2020.
An extension could mean a delay in statewide reporting.
Any voter that shows up at these four precincts after 7:30 p.m. ET would vote a provisional ballot, according to CNN.
