Harris County Sheriff’s deputies in Texas said Thursday evening they finally captured the suspect connected to the shooting of a deputy. As law enforcement tried to apprehend the suspect, two more officers were shot.

About 7 p.m. Thursday, law enforcement officers surrounded a home in Humble where Terran Green was hiding. Green was wanted in Wednesday night's shooting of a Harris County Sheriff's deputy who remains in critical condition today. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says they found Green in an Humble home and a standoff began as negotiators tried to talk Green out.

Heavy equipment was brought in to punch holes in the side of the house and to break windows and then tear gas was used to drive the suspect out. But even with all that, it took five hours to resolve. Just past midnight Green gave it up and is now behind bars.

One of the victims is possibly a deputy with the sheriff’s office and the other from U.S. Marshals, said Gonzalez, who told people to stay clear of the area.

Late Wednesday the sheriff’s office reported that a deputy had been shot in north Harris County on a traffic stop at 1300 Homestead Road. That deputy – later identified as Joseph Anderson – was transported to a hospital and underwent successful surgery. As of Thursday, he was is in critical but stable condition, and improving.

The suspects escaped in a Ford Escape SUV that was located and recovered. Police also put out a notice for people to be on the lookout for Terran Green and James Green, 34. By Thursday, James Green had been located, questioned and released. He was not charged.

However, Terran Green was considered armed and dangerous. A cash reward of $45,000 was offered for tips leading to his capture. Gonzalez said that Terran Green was found in the Silhouette Ridge residence.

“We believe we have the location contained and there is no immediate threat to broader community,” said authorities. “It’s unknown if others are inside the house. Both wounded LEO are being transported to hospitals.”
