A 2-year-old boy was fatally struck by a pickup truck in Arlington on Monday night, police say.
The incident happened at an apartment complex along N. Center Street, Arlington police said. Residents called 911 when they noticed the boy lying in the parking lot.
Police said the 2-year-old, identified Tuesday as Ethan Rodriguez, was taken to an area hospital and later died.
Police said investigators determined the boy got out of his apartment and was walking near the entrance to the complex
when the driver of a pickup truck turned into the parking lot and hit him.
The driver later told officers he stopped to see what he hit, but since it was dark he didn't see anything and kept driving, police said.
Police said the man has been cooperating, but the investigation is still underway and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.
