Monday evening, the busiest Thanksgiving travel season on record came to an end.

Over 80 million people were predicted to travel this year and 90 percent of those by road.

Those returning to North Texas are being greeted by what is known as meteorological winter which beings December 1st.

Cold and gloomy conditions are starting the week after a weekend cold front.

Over a million and a half more travelers were predicted to travel compared to last year.

Austin, Houston, San Antonio and the Hill Country joined Dallas Fort Worth in the most popular places where Texans traveled.
