Fort Worth-based American Airlines is cutting six routes later this summer as it adjusts capacity and faces rising fuel costs.
In a release the airline said it will suspend nonstop service in August and September for flights originating in Los Angeles and traveling to Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Washington Dulles, as well as routes connecting Charlotte with Ontario and Sacramento.
No flight service changes from DFW have been announced.
"American is not suspending any routes indefinitely as part of this adjustment," the spokesperson said in a statement.
The airline recently warned that rising jet fuel costs tied to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz could increase its fuel expenses by more than $4 billion this year.
