Lewisville ISD has confirmed that the suspect arrested for double murder of a married couple in Arkansas this week used to be a teacher at Donald Elementary School in Flower Mound.
28-year-old James Andrew McGann was arrested for the murders in Arkansas this week.
Sierra Marcum's son was in McGann's class during the 2022-2023 school year. She told NBC5 about complaints involving McGann.
"Mr. McGann, Andrew McGann, was his homeroom teacher," Marcum said. "It was his first year teaching on his own so I thought maybe he was awkward."
School leaders are encouraging any students who need counseling to ask for it.
Arkansas investigators don't have a motive but have said McGann admitted to the murders.
Records show he was also a teacher in Oklahoma after resigning from Lewisville I-S-D.
