Arlington Police want to know what caused a fight between family members that ended with the death of a woman.
Early this morning on Lake Country Drive north of I-30, Tim Ciesco with Arlington Police say officers got a call of gunfire. When they got there they found a 31-year-old woman on the ground outside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Ciesco says 74-year-old George Heimann, was still on the scene when officers arrived.
"Our investigators believe that he and the victim got into a verbal argument just prior to the shooting," Ciesco said. "The case remains under investigation, [we are] trying to figure out exactly why he ultimately decided to shoot this victim."
Heimann has been charged with murder. Police are not specifying the relationship between the two, only saying they are related.
