ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD)- Arlington police arrest the man they say killed a 21-year-old marine reservist before driving off.

It happened in June when Areauna Laws was standing on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of I-20 after having car issues. Witnesses saw a truck driving crazy just before the crash and saw it drive on the shoulder.
The witnesses gave police a good description of the truck.

Officers later found it abandoned and connected it to 26-year-old Josue Rodriguez. He initially told police he was somewhere else that night but investigators have been able to tie him to the deadly hit-and-run. They got a warrant for his arrest, and Members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force took him into custody in Fort Worth.

He's now in jail on a $40-thousand dollar bond.
Areauna Laws was a nursing student and was engaged. She planned to marry a fellow marine next year.
