AZLE (1080 KRLD)- At least three people were hurt when severe weather hit Azle Wednesday night. The National Weather Service says wind gusts of up to 70 miles an hour were reported along with hail as big as eggs and teacups.

"The worst part was when you're looking out the window. All the trees are bent to the east, then they all pop back up, then they flip and start going west," said one man who lives in the same neighborhood where the people were hurt. "You're going, 'the house isn't moving yet, so that's a good thing.'"
"All I could do was take my kids and run," a woman who lives across the street said. "I just held them down. I said, 'Stay down, stay down, stay down.' I was yelling at the top of my lungs because it was so loud."
Thursday morning, people started surveying damage in the Enchanted Lakes neighborhood southwest of the center of Azle. The neighborhood is primarily made up of mobile and manufactured homes.
"The damage is catastrophic, especially the surrounding areas," that woman said. "My heart goes out to everybody else, too, because this has been a very horrible and traumatic experience."
She says her kids have been struggling with damage to their home caused by a possible tornado while already dealing with the pandemic and record cold this winter.
"For us, it's a little, tiny chunk of our lives for adults. For little kids, it's a gigantic section of their life they're trying to figure out," she says.
"And then, we had the winter storm that shut everything down. Now, we have a tornado, so I can't imagine it from a child's perspective, the trauma they're going through, as well."
Six people were staying in a home in the neighborhood that was flipped over. Three were taken to the hospital. Parker County Emergency Services has not given an update on their condition.
