An expert witness called by a sexual assault victim insists Baylor University could have done more to protect female student athletes.
Baylor is being sued by a student using the pseudonym 'Annie Andrews' who says Baylor committed fraud, negligence and breach of duty when it did not crack down on reports of sexual assault.
Andrews was an equestrian athlete who says she was sexually assaulted by two members of the Baylor University football team in 2017 in an attack that was recorded on a cell phone video.
In testimony an expert who heads the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management told a jury that there had been a dozen rapes before the 2017 incident and that Baylor had ignored recommendations.
Bayor has tried to have the suit dismissed midway through the trial but the judge has refused, forcing the University to present a defense starting tomorrow.
