Boathouses and docks at a Lake Texoma marina have suffered heavy damage after sleet and snow accumulated during a winter storm, officials said.
Eisenhower Yacht Club Marina reported that as much as 6 inches of sleet and snow weighed down structures, causing several to collapse or sink. In a social media post, marina officials said boathouses 8 through 11 were totaled.
Other boathouses are still standing but are under significant stress from heavy ice loads, officials said. Customers are being asked not to attempt to access their slips while crews assess the damage and safety conditions.
Officials also warned that roads leading to the marina remain unsafe. The marina said it is in the process of contacting all customers affected by the damage.
