More than 200,000 Fort Worth and nearby city residents are under a boil water notice because of a power outage at a water treatment plant. This is more than twice the number originally believed to be affected.
A statement from the city says Fort Worth is extending the boil water notice to include a total of 212,000 Fort Worth residents.
Nine cites that buy drinking water from Fort Worth including Haslet, Keller, Lake Worth, Northlake, Roanoke, Saginaw, Southlake, Trophy Club and Westlake have been notified. If you reside in one of these cities, please contact your water utility directly with any questions.
The city said it expected the notice to stay in place through at least mid-day Wednesday.
The notice comes after the Eagle Mountain Water Plant and a raw water pump station on Bowman Roberts Road lost power Monday afternoon.
