Global pharmaceutical giant Bristol Myers Squibb has selected Harris County for a massive new manufacturing campus, marking a major expansion for the state's life sciences sector.

The company plans to build the facility at Generation Park, representing an estimated $2.3 billion investment. The project is expected to create 500 new high-paying jobs in the region.

To help secure the deal, Texas provided a $4 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund, a state program used to attract major corporate investments.

Construction at the site is scheduled to begin next year, with completion targeted for 2030.

Texas officials celebrated the announcement as a milestone for the state's growing economy.
