Severe weather in north Texas caused some damage to buildings in different parts of the Metroplex, and at least two people were hurt.

FC Dallas postponed its match at Toyota Stadium in Frisco on Wednesday night. A video posted online showed people running up the steps to get under cover while garbage and trash cans blew across the field.

The Frisco Fire Department says two people, including an eight-year-old child, were hurt, but both should be okay.

Dallas Fire Rescue helped some people from cars that were stuck in high water. Flash flooding stranded several cars near Webb Chapel and Loop 12.

Farther west, hail the size of ping pong balls and golf balls was reported in Parker and Tarrant Counties. In west Fort Worth and White Settlement, winds of more than 70 miles an hour were reported.

Strong winds knocked over a camper at an RV dealership near Camp Bowie West and Las Vegas Trail.

Several businesses were also damaged at a strip mall next door.

"It's just a trip to me because yesterday, we were working and everything was good. Now, we come in this morning and boom, disaster," one man who works for a plumber in the strip mall said.

Others say they feel grateful there was not more damage to their stores, but they say they now understand first-hand accounts they had heard about how severe weather can damage some buildings while leaving those next door alone.

"It was crazy," another man said. "Some property was damaged and then seeing our offices were untouched. We've got a small leak in the ceiling, but that's about it."

Later Thursday morning, a restoration company had already started clearing damage at the strip mall.

This is an update from this article about Wednesday's severe weather.
