Heavy weather has left damage behind overnight across North Texas.
Tarrant County officials reported wind gusts of 76 mph as a strong line of thunderstorms moved through. There were reports of 12-inch thick trees being toppled in White Settlement where wind gusts of 70 mph were reported.
In Ellis County, large tree limbs were knocked down, blocking some key streets in Midlothian.
In parts of Dallas County, areas that are normally prone to flooding did exactly that as some areas got up to 3 inches of rain.
In Navarro County, the Corsicana Municipal Airport reported a wind gust of 64 mph.
A little before 8 p.m. lightning, drenching rain, and fierce winds caused a stoppage at the FC Dallas’ game at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. The match against the Colorado Rapids did not restart and the team says it will be rescheduled. A video posted online showed people running up the steps to get under cover while garbage and trash cans blew across the field.
There was also heavy weather in far West Texas, the Panhandle, and South Plains with all reporting hail the size of ping pong balls or larger. Flash flooding was also reported on the south side of Fort Stockton. Hail the size of a hen's eggs was reported in Lubbock.
