Car rear-ends school bus in Granbury, no students were hurt

The driver is in the hospital after their car rear-ended a Granbury school bus Wednesday.

The accident happened during the afternoon drop-off when a car slammed into the back of the bus near Highway 144 and Williamson Road. The students and the bus driver were not hurt.

Parents were given the option of picking their kids up at the scene or letting them come home on another bus.

The car's passenger side slammed into the left rear corner of the bus, which may have saved the driver's life. She was taken to the hospital with a severe leg injury but it seemed she would recover.

There had been light rain in Hood County earlier in the day but the road did not appear to be wet at the time of the crash.
