A Cedar Hill man already convicted in absentia (while not present) of a Collin County violent crime is on the run after engaging in a road rage shooting in Duncanville and escaping while he was on his way to the courthouse last week.

Court records show Carlton Williams was sentenced to 43 years, also in absentia, after a Collin County jury found him guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Williams was arrested after using a machete to slash the tires on someone's vehicle at a red light in Plano because he was angry at the other driver following a confrontation on the Dallas North Tollway in 2021.

The Collin County District Attorney's office calls Williams, "armed and dangerous."

The Texas Rangers continue to search for Williams, along with the Duncanville and Cedar Hill police departments.
