The city of Dallas on Monday outlined it's plan to deal with aggressive coyotes near White Rock Lake.
In early May, a 2-year-old boy was attacked by a coyote as he sat on his porch in the Lakewood area. The boy is OK now but suffered a fractured jaw and severe lacerations.
Whitney Bollinger with Dallas Animal Services said coyotes are really out and about this time of year.
"Pup season is April thru August, so they will be out more. They are out during the day because they have more mouths to feed," Bollinger said.
She said the city set up a hotline to call if anyone sees a coyote. So far it has received 275 calls.
They have also written up a no-feeding ordinance, which includes not leaving animal food outside.
DAS has reportedly killed four coyotes this year, including the one that attacked the little boy.
