7-year-old Connor Flanders was viciously attacked by a dog while he was getting off the school bus back in January. His neighbor fought the dog off, but Connor still ended up badly injured.

Since the attack, the little boy hasn’t felt safe playing outside.

After hearing his story, about 40 volunteers braved the freezing weather to help build a fence around Connor’s house.

Volunteers tell NBC 5 they were happy to help as Home Depot and Trinity River Fencing donated materials and local restaurants provided food for volunteers.

Thousands of dollars have also been raised on a GoFundMe account to help with Connor’s medical bills from the attack.
