Conservative influencer Jake Lang is officially out of a North Texas jail—but he’s no longer allowed in the Lone Star State.
Lang, 31, was released from the Collin County jail on Tuesday after a judge slashed his bond from $1 million down to $250,000. The charge? Terroristic threats. Prosecutors allege that during the recent Karmelo Anthony murder trial, Lang livestreamed a video outside the courthouse threatening to deliver a “headshot” to Anthony if the jury failed to convict him.
While Assistant District Attorney Bill Wirskye blasted the incident as "an assault on the integrity of the criminal justice system," Lang is singing a very different tune online.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) immediately after his release, Lang celebrated his "Freedom!", claiming he is the first man in American history to be banned from Texas for his political ideologies and calling local officials "judicial tyrants."
Lang was among the January 6 capital rioters arrested and then pardoned by President Trump.
The Conditions of his Release:
- Immediate Departure: Ordered to leave Texas and barred from returning except for mandatory court dates or attorney meetings.
- Tracking: Must wear a GPS ankle monitor at all times.
This isn't Lang's only recent run-in with Collin County law enforcement. He was also arrested on June 2 for criminal trespass after posting a video of himself breaking into David Kuykendall Stadium—the site of the fatal stabbing tied to the murder trial.
Lang maintains the legal actions against him are unprecedented "lawfare," vowing on social media that "the crusade continues."
