There are signs that this current spike in COVID-19 may soon be subsiding.
Last week in Tarrant County, the spread rate was a pandemic high of 2.1 - meaning on average, every one person infected with COVID is infecting 2.1 other people.
Public Health Director Vinny Taneja says that has since dropped to 1.26.
Taneja says other factors, such as the positivity rate and the hospitalization rate, while high, appear to be plateauing as well. He cautions, however, that the numbers will fluctuate before steadily going down.
