In a show of solidarity, the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, and the NFL Foundation have collectively pledged $1.5 million to support Central Texas communities devastated by the recent flash floods.
Each franchise is contributing $500,000, directing the donations toward critical relief efforts via The Salvation Army.
The Dallas Cowboys emphasized their commitment, saying, “Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastation … standing side by side with The Salvation Army’s critical response.”
The Houston Texans echoed that sentiment, expressing sorrow over the loss of life and offering continued support in search and recovery operations.
Combined with the NFL Foundation’s matching gift, the total donation will fund both immediate aid—including food, shelter, and rescue operations—and long-term recovery resources for families rebuilding in the Texas Hill Country.
The move comes as the death toll approaches 70 and dozens remain missing, highlighting the urgent need for community-focused relief.
As recovery efforts continue, this unified response by two Texas-based teams and the league underscores how sports franchises can mobilize resources and attention in times of crisis—helping Central Texans recover from one of the most devastating natural disasters in recent memory.
